I love the Disney-diagram. I've used it many times througout my career. It's not only a great ice-breaker (people move a bit closer when you show it on screen, even when you have the chance to be in a board room) but it tells a great enterprise design story. In those days everything - e.g. the theme parks - was set up in support of the movies, now (or at least in "the before") it's more or less the other way around.
Never thought of using the Disney diagram as an ice-breaker. Nice!
Re the dynamic of the elements - it would be fantastic to see how the importance and the interconnections between the elements shifted through time. An intriguing exploration would be to use Milky Way mapping of a business ecosystem and not only of a single enterprise. Thanks for your thoughts, Pascal!
Haha! But in my worldview "enterprise" refers to the whole of the ecosystem. Where "enterprise" stands for the collective endeavour ("an attempt to achieve a goal") rather than "the business" or "the organisation". See also Tom Graves' rhetoric.
I like this holistic worldview about "enterprise" & appreciate the reference!
& bet we'll see these collective endeavors to achieve shared goals more often. Referencing Patrick Hoverstadt's SCiO Belgium talk yesterday ... there is much more collaboration than competition in the structural couplings in nature and in business

But sure!, MW-mapping certainly has potential
